Ned Beale

Ned Beale is an English solicitor specialising in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.  Ned is a partner and co-head of commercial disputes in the London office of Hausfeld & Co LLP, a UK, US and EU law firm specialising solely in complex commercial and competition disputes.

Ned has extensive experience dealing with contractual claims, including claims arising out of Brexit, Covid-19 and Russian related disruption, shareholder disputes, post-M&A claims, aviation matters (including acting for airlines and lessors), commercial fraud and disputes in the manufacturing, engineering and technology sectors. In addition, Ned’s long track-record of acting in banking matters includes retail banking and structured finance disputes.

Ned regularly appears in international arbitration as counsel, advocate and arbitrator, including before ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and ad hoc tribunals. He is a Fellow (FCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the ICC UK National Committee. He regularly advises on the enforcement of arbitral awards and court judgments, and related conflict of law issues.

Ned was formerly president of AIJA’s Litigation Commission.  He has been recommended by the legal directories for many years.  He was named the UK’s Litigator of the Year by Legal Week at their 2019 Litigation & Arbitration Awards for his work in the UK Supreme Court and in international arbitration.
