Leen is a Belgian-qualified labour & employment lawyer. Her main practice lies in individual and collective employment law and Belgian and international social security law.

Her specialties are negotiating employment agreements and service agreements, terminating contracts (dismissal and resignation cases, motivation of dismissals, etc.), advising on compensation and benefits, advising on bogus self-employment, advising on and litigating anti-discrimination cases (especially gender and age discrimination), advising on re-integration to work (long-term illness), and business immigration (mainly single permits).

She regularly assists companies who are willing to start employing personnel in Belgium.

She is an experienced litigator and regularly assists clients dealing with a transfer of undertaking, collective lay-off, and closure of undertaking. She also has specific expertise in dealing with employee representations.

Leen has published various articles regarding labor and employment law in law journals and is a speaker on HR-related topics.

She has a master of law from Ghent University (UGent 2002) and started her career at the Brussels Bar in 2002.

Leen is a member of the Association for Employment Law (a Brussels association of judges, lawyers, and other legal practitioners specialized in employment law).

Leen’s mother tongue is Dutch. She is also fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of German.
