Matthias Hesshaus

Matthias Hesshaus is a lawyer specializing in administrative law. For many years he has primarily assisted clients in the health care industry in the successful marketing of their products, from drugs to dietary supplements to medical devices. To this end, he provides assistance from product conception to application for necessary approvals, production, distribution, and advertising. He also deals with issues related to social insurance law, such as the reimbursability of medicines or the granting of mandatory discounts to statutory health insurance funds.

Matthias has been advising on public procurement matters for more than 25 years. He has assisted public clients and bidders in complex procurement projects and represented them before regulatory bodies.

After several years as a research assistant at Ruhr University Bochum, Matthias has worked as a lawyer since 1998 and, after many years as a partner in a medium-sized, nationally positioned law firm, founded the law firm AVANTCORE in Stuttgart with two partners in 2017.

Matthias regularly lectures on health law and public procurement law topics and publishes in renowned commentaries on pharmaceutical law and general administrative law.
